[read with Andy Rooney voice] You know what I don’t understand? How come every time I turn on the t.v. on Sunday night there’s this guy with a whiny nasal voice, ranting away in a cranky stream of consciousness, offering his personal reaction to whatever random subject happens to cross his mind?
True, he is a master of his craft. He even offers his ideas in a bite-sized, digestible format, and he peppers his commentary with nifty little graphics.
But really, what makes his take on things so unique that I have to sit there are listen to him? I mean, I could tune in to any of millions of blogs (several of which I actually enjoy), to get the same thing, any time… and usually the subjects are covered in a more timely fashion.
I think this is all very ironic, considering that a couple of years ago he said in an interview , “I’m trying to find out what blog means. It seems vastly over-rated as a communications tool.“ (CBS News, 10-Plus-1, 11/30/2005). I assume that by now he’s moved on from his affected state of technological repudiation – at least on this matter of blogs — and maybe, just maybe, he even realizes that he’s getting paid a lot of money to do what a lot of folks out there are doing for nothing. Hmm, maybe that Andy Rooney guy is pretty smart after all. [insert ticking sound]

I agree – even without a blog he blogged.
