My favorite apple is the Cortland, a cross between the ubiquitous McIntosh and the nearly vanished Ben Davis. They are so delicious and crunchy. Here are some pictures of Cortland apples.

(But if you’re dying for some intelligent content, Wikipedia has an excellent article on Apples. Did you know they originate from the area of Kazakhstan? A is for Apple, B is for Borat, PS is for potent symbolism. That potatoes are called “earth apples” in so many languages has always amazed me. If anything deserves the name Earth Apple, it would be Jicama, another one of my favorite foods. /endtrainofthought)
