Online Video Sub-Genre Showdown: Battle of the Bumblebees

Ok, all you closet Yngwie Malmsteen fans out there, which of these guys rock the most??

There are actually over a thousand videos on YouTube pertaining to Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Flight of the Bumblebee,” and at least half of them involve guys playing the electric guitar.

This is definitely one of those huge, under-the-radar online video sub-genres.

This surf version by Crazy Joe is excellent…

…and  I really like this other guy, because (a) he’s got a great wall poster, and (b) he admits that, while he’s not as good as the guy who did FotBb at 200 bpm, nevertheless, he can do it at 201 bpm.   (Well, he can try.)

Hey, it’s one more than 200, so he gets my vote. Like Nigel Tufnel once said, “These go to eleven.”
