Remember to Smile!

They say it takes more muscles to frown than it does to smile, and/or it requires more energy to frown than it does to smile.

I disagree.

..but don’t just take my word it… here’s a nice Snopes article that deals with this little smiley aphorism: http://www.snopes.com/science/smile.asp

I think that it takes WORK to smile, and requires ENERGY to produce a genuine smile… especially a genuine smile the face of adversity, exhaustion, or just plain old Forces of Gravity.

The thing is, it’s precisely that WORK which produces the BENEFITS of a smile.

The benefits of smiling (which are scientifically proven) include an incremental improvement to your own mood, as well as a powerful, positive emotional contagion that lifts the moods of those around you.    ‘Cause if momma ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy.

Got to be less lazy about it, and remember to smile more.
