Nice take on Dale Carnegie’s How to Win Friends and Influence People, as it applies to social media:

In the absence of body language and facial expression, effective communication and relationship management in a text-only medium has its own nuances, BEYOND THE WELL-KNOWN RULE ABOUT NOT SHOUTING THROUGH ALL CAPS.  For example, humor and sarcasm can be difficult to detect, although some scientists have been cracking the code on sarcasm. Really, like they would know anything about sarcasm, those scientists?
